An interesting brand that easily deserves more attention is Apollo Automobil, previously known as Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur before that company filed for bankruptcy and went into liquidation. The Gumpert company was was repurchased in 2016 by Hong Kong consortium Ideal Team Venture, which also owns the Italian car-manufacturing company De Tomaso. You may know of Gumpert, Apollo, and De Tomaso from the all new Apollo IE & De Tomaso P72 hypercars, or maybe from their classic icons such as the De Tomaso Pantera or the Gumpert Apollo. A car you may have never seen ever before is this one shown here, the 2021 Apollo Automobil Project EVO, finished in ‘Deep Orange Metallic’, this is a look at the German sports car manufacturers latest prototype vehicles, and a early vision into the future of the company. The Project EVO first began it’s early design stages in 2019 which was handled by Jowyn Wong (@mr__wyn, @wyn.design), and eventually, the car made it’s worldwide debut in 2021 at the China International Import Expo. The EVO features a monocoque carbon fiber chassis, and much of the engineering work was handled by HWA AG, a German company based in Affalterbach which is best known for their work in constructing vehicles and components for Mercedes-AMG race cars, notably the CLK-GTR. The wheels on the EVO were manufactured, designed, and engineered specifically for this car by @brixtonforged, and they are 5-axis milled, aerospace grade 6061-6 forged aluminum. This car serves as a successor model to the companies mid-engined sports car known as the Intensa Emozione, which was created in partnership with Manifattura Automobili Torino (@manifatturaautomobilitorino). Some unique elements included on the EVO consist of three massive exhaust tips accompanied by six large rear fins which serve as taillights, X-shaped daytime running lights in the front, active aerodynamics, triangular air-intakes and so much more which has yet to be fully revealed!
