This is the highly-intriguing 2001 B-Engineering Edonis, a mysterious supercar that popped up in the early 2000’s based on the underpinnings of the highly-praised Bugatti EB110. On September 23rd of 1995, Bugatti declared for bankruptcy, due mainly to the companies inability to source potential investors to help continue their projects at the time. After bankruptcy, a special entity by the name of “The Bugatti Fallimento” was formed solely to liquidate the companies assets, including the remaining EB110 parts & chassis considering Bugatti only recently completed production for this model. On April 4th of 1997, a public auction was held for a total of three days at the Campogalliano factory in order to disperse all of the companies remaining parts. A group from Luxembourg, later to be associated with the brand B-Engineering purchased a total of around four finished EB110s, the C6 prototype, as well as an additional EB110 body and chassis with a missing engine. The company was made up at the time of several former Bugatti employees, and the project was headed by French automotive historian Jean-Marc Borel. The engineering for the original Edonis was carried out by a group of ex-Bugatti staff members including Italian mechanical engineer Nicola Materazzi & Bertone designer, Marc Deschamps. Although based on the EB110 chassis, the Edonis actually featured tons of unique elements, such as a more powerful engine, a newly updated interior, and of course a completely restyled body. After only two were completed, B-Engineering went completely silent. That was until 2018, when it was announced that Las Vegas-based company Casil Motors planned to revive the Edonis project in collaboration with B-Engineering. The project, now renamed ‘SP-110’ was planned to use the remaining unused EB110 parts to create an additional 15 bespoke custom-built continuation cars. It’s unclear how much progress has been made on this since 2018.
