This is the 1957 BMW 507 Roadster Series I. This car, chassis number 70044 is a rare first-Series example and is one of just 252 examples produced. This car retains its original interior and engine, however the paint work of the car has been re-finished a few times. Chassis number 70044 was produced in July of 1957 and came finished in a rare shade of off-white called ‘Papyros’. In 1963 the car’s 3rd owner repainted this 507 to black and not too long after that it was repainted again to a shade of sea green which still remains the color to this day. Chassis number 70044 may have gone through numerous color changes over it’s life, however, as we mentioned the interior remains completely original as well as the numbers-matching engine underneath the hood.
