This magnificent car shown here, is owned by one of the world’s most inspiring people, an icon in the weightlifting scene for decades, owner of @ironaddictsgym, an actor, video-blogger, and multiple time World Bench Press Champion and Strict Curl Champion @c.t.ali.fletcher/@ctfletchersautoaddicts. This is none other than the one-of-a-kind 1963 Chevrolet Corvette “Outer Limits” (110752). Ray Farhner, a Kansas City-based customizer behind the Boothill Express, transformed this split-window coupe into the radical show car shown here back in 1963 using an example with approximately 100 miles on the dashboard after it had been totaled. It’s believed Ray paid $950 at the time, and spent approximately 6 weeks repairing it, and developing the custom bodywork. The “Outer Limits” Vette has undergone several re-designs and color transformations before arriving at its striking white-on-white look. This car showcases extensive customization, from its sculpted bodywork to its bespoke interior, featuring Outer Limits wheels with star-shaped cutouts, and contoured bucket seats paired with a floor-mounted Hurst shifter, all seamlessly unified by intricately stitched shooting star accents that flow across the upholstery, headliner, and door panels, emphasizing its cosmic-inspired aesthetic. The car is packed with a 350-cid OHV V-8 engine today, but has had a 392 hemi and a wide variety other modifications over the years. The fenders were reshaped with extended, finned tops, while the wheel openings were enlarged for a more dramatic look. Traditional door handles were eliminated in favor of electric solenoids for a seamless appearance. A set of side pipes enhanced its aggressive styling, and a custom screw gear system was installed to mechanically lift the hood during exhibitions. Its distinctive modifications earned it features in the well-known Rod and Custom magazine.
