This concept car shown here was developed by a French automobile brand known as Citroën, which was first founded in 1919 as the ‘Automobiles Citroën’ manufacturing company. This is the 2010 Citroën Survolt, an electric race car concept that was first ever shown to the public during the 2010 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Survolt was styled by automotive designers Frédéric Soubirou (exterior) & Julien Famchon (interior), and interestingly, the project featured exciting elements such as scissor doors, and plans to incorporate two electric motors that would be able to develop around 300bhp combined. The Survolt is based loosely upon another electric concept car from Citroën known as the Revolte. The car was to be classified as a zero-emissions vehicle, operating solely on batteries to produce power. Some interesting design elements on the Survolt include the front grille, which is a large oval-shaped design finished in chrome that draws your attention to the front of the car immediately, along with the horizontal LED headlamps. In the rear, the Survolt showcases a large rear wing that helps to increase downforce. In the year 2011, Citroën collaborated with a French artist by the name of Francoise Nielly to have a completely new ‘art car’ hand-painted design implemented to the exterior of the one-of-one Survolt, resulting in a masterpiece filled with bright and exciting colors, and project that is definitely worth taking a look at. Later renamed to be the ‘DS Survolt’, the car made it’s first ever appearance on a race track at Le Mans on July 12th of 2010 with Belgian racing driver, Vanina Ickx being the first ever driver to get behind the wheel in that setting. The Survolt appears in a number of racing video games, including in Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, Asphalt 8: Airborne, GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience, and Driveclub for PlayStation 4, and has even made an appearance on the well-known stunt-filled motor show, Top Gear.
