Shown here is the extremely captivating 2017 Dallara Stradale ‘Signature Edition’ (chassis ZA9ME2007JVM27008) and it’s car number 8 of just 10 total units built for the entire world. To begin, it’s important to know about the Italian race car manufacturer, Dallara, and the history behind the company. After working previously with Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and other big name automotive manufacturers, Mr. Gian Paolo Dallara decided it was time to begin his own company, which he did in 1972 by creating ‘Dallara Automobili’. Early on, the company primarily designed and built racecar chassis, and the Stradale is officially the company’s first ever road car. CEO of Dallara, Andrea Pontremoli, was tasked with the development work surrounding the project. The design work for the Stradale was contracted to a small Italian design consultancy firm, Granstudio, which is located in Turin, Italy, while the chassis development was handled by former race car driver, Loris Bicocchi. Perhaps the most unique design element of the Stradale is it’s capability of converting to different body styles. Thanks to a removable motorsport grade polycarbonate glass windscreen combined with detachable gull-wing doors the Stradale can be easily converted from either roadster or targa at any given moment. Entry into the Stradale’s cabin is possible by climbing over the side into the cockpit which reveals mostly carbon fiber materials and a steering wheel that contains almost all of the vital information needed for racing/driving. In total, Dallara plans to produce just 600 Stradale examples for the world, however, this ‘Signature Edition’ shown here is car number 8 of only 10 that will ever be produced. The ‘Signature Edition’ cars are simply the first 10 Stradales to ever roll of the production line. This car is finished in ‘Dallara Blue’ and is the only signature edition to be fitted with a robotized gearbox.
