This fantastic car, which was photographed during the 2023 New York International Auto Show is the 2022 Dodge Charger SRT Daytona Concept Car, 1 of at least 2 examples of it’s kind built to preview what will eventually become the eighth-generation of the Dodge Charger model. The Charger Daytona SRT Concept incorporates three revolutionary features at its heart, each designed to redefine performance. The ‘R-Wing’ is a front aero component that preserves Dodge’s signature look while enhancing aerodynamics. The concept also introduces a Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, an industry-first for electric vehicles, generating a sound comparable to the iconic SRT Hellcat, and the eRupt transmission, a multi-speed system providing a dynamic, traditional Dodge shifting feel. The Charger Daytona SRT Concept reshapes electric muscle car design with subtle nods to Dodge’s legacy, from illuminated Fratzog badges to a grille inspired by the 1968 Charger. Inside, the cabin centers on the driver with modern elements like a jet-fighter-style start button cap, customizable displays, and immersive lighting that shift with driving modes like Auto, Sport, Track, and Drag. Powered by the advanced 800V Banshee system, the concept also offers spacious functionality with fold-flat rear seats, while a panoramic glass roof enhances the open, dynamic feel for all passengers. On March 5th of 2024, Dodge unveiled the production version of the Charger, available as a 3-door arriving in 2024 and a 5-door in 2025, with a gasoline-powered inline-6 model set to follow. The Charger Daytona will launch in R/T and Scat Pack versions, delivering 496 and 670 horsepower through dual electric motors with all-wheel drive and a 100.5 kWh battery, priced at $59,595 for the R/T and $73,190 for the Scat Pack—both eligible for a $7,500 tax credit when leased. This particular concept was first ever shown in 2022 during the SEMA show that year.
