An awesome car you might’ve never seen before from a company you may have never heard of before. This is the 1999 Leblanc Caroline GTR, and in summary, this is essentially a Le-Mans-style street legal racecar. Leblanc is a Zürich based Swiss car manufacturer that focuses mainly on producing high-performance automobiles in very limited quantities. The Leblanc Caroline was Leblanc’s first project and was developed by Swiss engineer, Rolf Wyss. The Caroline GTR took over 10,000 hours to develop over the course of seven years and combines both advanced technology and materials in order to produce a lightweight, highly-powerful car. The curvy bodywork was developed with carbon fiber to ensure safety and rigidity while other components of the car consist of titanium and magnesium. Swiss manufacturer, Wysstec is the company responsible for the actual development of all Leblanc cars and initially, Wysstec and Leblanc had plans to produce the Caroline GTR in limited numbers, with each car being built to the clients specific desire with a base price of around $530,000. Unfortunately this idea never came to life due to a change of fate for Mr. Rolf Wyss & instead of pursuing the project, he went on to continue engineering outside of the automotive industry. The singular Caroline GTR prototype that was completed however weighs in at an extremely impressive 1,730lbs total and allows for some serious performance statistics thanks to it’s powerful engine and featherweight body. To combat the extremely loud exhaust, factory headphones are fitted into the cabin, as well as another feature you wouldn’t expect on a car like this, air conditioning.
How many made? It’s believed only 1 car was completed. This yellow example.
