This is the 2024 McLaren Solus GT! This particular example was created to honor Finnish former motorsports racing driver Mika Häkkinen’s 1998 championship victory with the McLaren MP4/13. This Solus GT is finished in a wonderful combination of silver with orange accents, replicating the same livery seen on the McLaren MP4/13 racer from 1998. Just 25 lucky customers will be able to have the chance to own this limited-production track-only mid-engined supercar, which consists of a bespoke carbon fibre monocoque chassis that incorporates numerous elements taken directly from Formula One. The Solus GT offers F1-style carbon fiber crash structures, and 3D-printed titanium components, as well as a uniquely designed sliding canopy roof system, which allows for entry into the single-seat, track-only hypercar. The bodywork for the car can easily be described as visceral, and McLaren Special Operations engineers and designers were able to fuse together a legion of different features that would ultimately lead to extraordinary aerodynamics such as a massive front splitter, a twin-element fixed rear wing, and Venturi tunnels integrated into the floor. Not only does the Solus demonstrate unprecedented styling and features, it’s also equipped with a completely unique 5.2 L (317.3 cu in) JUDD GV5-Based naturally aspirated V10 engine. On the interior of the Solus GT, you’ll find only one seat, a method of both weight saving and ensuring for a maximum level of driver-focus, a six-point race harness, and adjustable pedals, with pretty much anything you’d ever need to access at the palm of your hands via the steering wheel. Not only do customers get the car, but along with it, they’ll receive a bespoke HANS (head and neck support device), a custom moulded seat, a custom racing helmet, as well as a FIA-homologated race suit.
