This is the 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 Spyder Finished Martinique Yellow Pearl Metallic over Ivory Leather Interior. To start the Spyder variants of the 3000GT are incredibly rare, only 1,034 total 3000GT Spyders were completed and offered for sale. The Spyder variant of the 3000GT was offered in two trims, as was the previous coupe models: an ‘SL’ Spyder & a ‘VR4’ Spyder. One of the main differences between the two models is power. Both cars are powered by a V6 but the VR4 is twin-turbocharged and offers a substantial amount more power and performance. Of the 1,034 3000GT Spyders built from 1995-1996, only 13 of those cars were finished in Martinique Yellow Pearl Metallic and luckily we were able to get our hands on this one for our video on our main channel @am_media_ny. I will link it in the bio for you to check out! Bob, the owner of this VR4 Spyder has 2 other 3000GT Spyders in his collection as well, so you can definitely say we chose the right owner, and car for a proper video! One of the most interesting elements of design to the 3000GT Spyders is that they came with hard-top retractable roofs, something you don’t find on many convertible cars in general. The 3000GT Spyder was the first hard-top convertible to come out in the US since the Ford Fairlane Skyliner. The Spyders were eventually discontinued in 1997 due to slow sales but it wouldn’t be until just recently that we discover that was a pretty good thing to happen for the cars value!
How many made? Just 1,034 total 3000GT Spyders were built from 1995-1996 and only 13 VR4’s in this color!
