Thanks to the powers of the internet, and the great efforts of pages such as @brunei_car_collection, @torquedaily_, and @taffy_c_s_145, and others, today we are able to share and present the story of the extremely rare 1995 Rolls-Royce Phantom Royale. As you may or may not know, the car collection of the 29th Sultan of Brunei, and the Royal Family of Brunei, is believed to be the largest private car collection in the entire world, consisting of an estimated 7,000 cars which have an estimated combined value of over $5 Billion USD. Hassanal Bolkiah, or ‘The Sultan of Brunei’ is one of the last absolute monarchs of the modern era. A common theme among the Royal family’s collection is one-off, few-off, and custom built supercars and luxury cars from some of the world’s most prominent manufacturers. This car shown here is a perfect example of a custom ordered car built specifically for the Royal family, and because of this, many details are generally not revealed to public. What is known however is the fact that 6 total examples were believed to be built, with the last car being produced in 1997. The Phantom Royale is a 7-seat limousine which is constructed on a lengthened and widened Continental R platform, and used the technical components from the Rolls-Royce Silver Spur (III) Touring Limousine of that era. The engine used for the first run of these special limousines was the same as the one found in the 1995 Rolls-Royce Flying Spur, and the cars were designed by both Pininfarina and Bertone. The first four examples were said to have been styled by the famous Italian design house Pininfarina, and the last two cars were built by an equally notable Italian design house, Bertone, in Turin, Italy.
How many made? Up to 6 cars are said to have been produced
