This is the ‘Dark Red Metallic’ 2012 RUF RT 12 S (W09BD0387BPR06160), which is equipped with a beautiful cognac interior. This car shown here is a limited-production sports cars developed using the base of the 997-generation Porsche 911, and built by German car manufacturer, RUF Automobile. When it comes to Porsche, some of the best examples were manufactured during what was considered to be the 997-Generation. Porsche built and sold over 200,000 examples of the 997-generation Porsche 911, across all different variations. Considered internally as a 997-model, this car serves an extensively modified variation of the highly desirable Porsche 911 sports car that was manufactured and sold by the German automobile manufacturer Porsche from 2004 (as Model Year 2005) until 2013 across two different generations. The first generation being known as the 997.1 (2004-2008) and the second, updated 997.2 (2009-2013). In specific, the 997-generation of the 911 happened to be one of the greatest variants they ever produced. This car was entirely constructed by Ruf Automobile GmbH, which is a German car manufacturer that engineers original vehicles using unmarked Porsche chassis, and was founded in 1939 by Alois Ruf Sr. as ‘Auto Ruf’. In Autumn of 2004, at the Essen Motor Show, Ruf introduced the RT 12 model as their very first offering of a model built on the 997-generation platform. The visceral RT 12 S comes equipped with a 3,746 cc twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six engine which produces just around 676hp in ‘S’ trim, and two other variants were also made available, including the standard RT 12 (523-552hp), and the race-focused RT 12 R (720hp). All of the Ruf RT 12 cars boast specially developed RUF bodywork, which not only gives the RT 12 S incredible styling, but also helps to improve downforce, ultimately resulting in maximizing high-speed stability.
How many made? This example is said to be 1 of just 13 W09 RUF Vin numbered RT12 cars ever made.
