This car shown here is a stunning example of a 2009 Spyker C8 Spyder (207) finished in a very rare ‘Burnt Orange Almond’ over a black interior with orange stitching. This C8 Spyder model first ever made a public appearance at the 2000 Birmingham Motor Show, and this particular car is actually the factory Spyker show car that was put on display during the 79th Geneva International Motorshow in the year 2009 during the debut of the Spyker C8 Aileron. The C8 Spyder was built as a result of the design work of a Dutch engineer named Maarten de Bruijn, who is also the co-founder of the Spyker Cars company alongside Dutch businessman, Victor Muller. The Dutch sports car marque ‘Spyker Cars’ was officially founded in the year 1999, with this model shown here, and the C8 Laviolette being the first models offered for sale by the company. On July 14 of 2005 it was announced that the C8 models would officially be approved for sale in the United States market, however, not many of them were built and sold overall, making it a truly unique piece of automotive history. The C8 Spyder is powered by an Audi 4.2L V8 engine that produced around 400 PS (294 kW; 395 hp), and one of the most unique aspects of this car is the fact that a number of the switches, gauges and elements are entirely aircraft-inspired, which gives it a look and feel unlike any other road car out there. Polished aluminum can be found almost everywhere on this car, and it’s simply one of the more under-appreciated, and often forgotten rare supercars of the 2000’s. This example shown was built in the final model year for the C8 Spyder model, and is seen here at the annual, invite-only @thebridgehamptons event, and is believed to reside in the New York area.
