You can search the entire world for another car as unique and intriguing as this one, but it’s going to be hard to compete with the 2009 Suzusho Supasse-V, a car that was designed to provide the expeirence of driving a competitive racing car on legal roads. This interesting project was developed by Japanese automotive manufacturer, Suzusho, who is most widely known for their work in creating kit cars, however, the Supasse-V (shown here) is an example of their first ever in-house designed vehicle. The company was ran by former racing driver, Toshio Suzuki, who had long been working with 3D CAD systems for many years prior to the Supasse-V project. Based on his knowledge in racing and design, Suzuki and his team of professionals were able to construct a car that really doesn’t share too many similarities with anything else in the entire world. Unlike their previous projects, the Supasse-V was no kit car, boasting a monocoque chassis and suspension system designed completely by Suzusho themselves. The body of the car itself was designed by famous designer and founder of MIM design, Kenji Mimura, who is best known for the design and development behind the Dome Zero and other various Japanese racing cars. Notable design features include butterfly-style doors, and sleek bodywork including a round cabin and low nose. The Supasse-V produces a respectable 270 horsepower from an inline-4 cylinder engine which becomes even more impressive upon realizing the car only weighs a total of 1,873lbs. In 2009, the year of the Supasse-V’s debut, Suzusho was actually the 14th largest automobile builder in Japan. It’s unclear as to why the project was not carried further into series production, however, I can say that I do love this little machine! What do you think of this unique Japanese sports car?
