This is the unbelievably rare 1987 Zender Vision 3! In the year 1969 Hans-Albert Zender founded a sole proprietorship under the name of ‘HAZ’ when he was only 23 years of age. Early in his career, Mr. Zender customized car interiors in a small garage located in Bassenheim, Germany. By the year 1972, the company’s name was changed from HAZ to Zender and their portfolio had expanded to producing parts as well. In 1974, Zender had established a number of noteworthy clients such as Ford and VW where they would now continue to manufacture body components. After having some success, in the year 1979, the company moved to Mülheim-Kärlich. The company’s first concept car offering came in 1983 as the Audi Quattro-based Vision 1 design study. In 1984, Hans Albert Zender Exklusiv-Auto was founded with the main focus being production of unique automobiles. In total, six full-sized ‘Vision’ cars were created, the 1983 Vision 1 being the first project in the lineup followed by the 1S (1984), 2 (1985), 3C (1986), 3 (1987). The Vision 3 was styled by a talented designer by the name of Günther Zillner, and is the last of the ‘Vision’ series before Zender’s introduction of the Fact 4 at the 1989 IAA Frankfurt. The Vision 3 went through vigorous wind-tunnel testing at Aachen Technical University to ensure the glass and carbon fiber reinforced plastic bodywork and quadrangular tubular steel chassis were as perfect as possible. A second more enhanced Brabus-tuned purple-colored example was also constructed in 1989 and is owned by @bigbarto77! The Zender GmbH vehicle tuning company lasted from 1969 until 2008. Zender today operates under CEO Marco Dei Vecchi as Zender Italia S.R.L./Zender Medical GmbH/Zender Germany GmbH and offers industrial solutions for a wide range of industries, as well as a focus on developing medical products.
